Personnel Services is part of the Administrative Services/Finance Department. Personnel Services is responsible for providing effective development and utilization of human resources through delivery of personnel services to all City departments. The department oversees the administration of the merit pay system and other employee relations ordinances, resolutions, rules and regulations, by providing recruitment, testing, certification, and Equal Employment assistance. Additional responsibilities include establishing and administering employee training programs and assistance in industrial injury and retirement claims. Personnel administers the personnel rules and regulations, processes grievances and complaints and represents management in employee relations. Personnel assists employees in matters of workers’ compensation claims and employee group benefit programs.Continue reading
