  1. Annual Used Cooking Oil Collection Program

    The City of La Habra’s annual Used Cooking Oil Collection Program will be available to La Habra residents through this year’s holiday season. The program is held to offer residents a location to dispose of their holiday cooking oil. The process of deep frying a holiday turkey generates a large amount of waste oil. Through this program, residents will have an easy option for disposal. Cooking oil should never be disposed of down the drain or in the trash. This program is offered to La Habra residents by appointment only. Please call for an appointment through the Public Works Department at (562) 383-4170.

    On Saturday, December 10, 2016 the Public Works Department will be holding a free compost giveaway event at the City of La Habra Public Works Yard from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The mulch is being donated by CR&R Incorporated. To receive (2) free bags of mulch per household, present coupon at event. Coupons were mailed to La Habra residents in the City water bill.

  2. Little Learners with Miss Rachel

    Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:30-11am and 11:30-12pm Hey toddlers and preschoolers, this program’s just for you! Join us for a 30 minute mini-class with our new CSUF intern. We’ll play music, make art, read books, and even learn about science together in a safe and nurturing environment. Rachel grew up in Seoul, South Korea and came to Southern California four years ago for college. She is currently studying Child and Adolescent development, emphasis in Early Childhood Development at California State University, Fullerton. She loves little kids, animals, Disney movies, and every color, especially purple! She believes that children are full of potential and that an activity in early childhood can make a great impact on a child’s whole life. She always tries to create unique and instructive activities for children. In the meantime, she enjoys cooking, swimming, watching sport games and movies, and the beach.

    Come peruse a pop-up Art Gallery, take part in a Community Mural, and listen to local children sing today from 10am-1pm. An event celebrating the Dreams of Children Grant* participants. *The Children’s Museum at La Habra was awarded a grant from the California Arts Council - Local Impact Program for the Museum’s new pilot program entitled The Dreams of Children (Los Sueños de los Niños), a partnership with the La Habra City School District and the Consulate of Mexico in Santa Ana. This program served 3rd grade students at Walnut Elementary in La Habra during the fall of 2016.
