Greg was enrolled in the WIA Youth Employment Program in October 2012. He was a high school drop-out with no plans for his future, spending his days playing video games and watching TV. After hearing about the program through his sister, and after serious peer pressure from her to get a job, Greg decided to give the program a try. He enrolled into the WIA program and charter school with very low expectations. Little by little, Greg felt supported and encouraged to complete his diploma and get a job. Greg was placed at Party City where he really began to excel, and his positive progression transferred over to school. As Greg’s WEX assignment ended, Party City immediately hired him. Soon after, he earned his high school diploma in June 2013. Greg continues to work at Party City, but now he is a supervisor, in charge of…the new WEX participants from La Habra!
